Utility Price Reduction Information for Our Constituents
Resources For Customers
This week, SDG&E is informing customers about the new rates, natural gas market conditions and assistance programs via email, social media and the local news media. While we know consumers are experiencing higher utility costs outside of SDG&E, we made a commitment to our customers and you that there would be no surprises.
SDG&E remains committed to helping customers with resources and tips on how to save energy and apply for assistance programs. We continue to look for ways to help our most vulnerable customers. To date, SDG&E has secured two rounds of funding from the CA Arrearage Payment Program (CAPP) totaling $113.5 million to help offset our customers’ outstanding balances. The first round of $62.5 million was automatically applied to eligible customers’ accounts in February 2022 and the second round of $51 million will be applied to eligible customers’ accounts automatically this month.
SDG&E also recently launched a no-cost energy efficiency upgrade program called Residential Energy Solutions for renters and owners of single-family homes. Unlike most other energy efficiency programs, this one has no income restrictions.
We also have the following information that you may find helpful in communicating with any constituent inquiries you may receive:
